Private Piano Lessons for Children |

Our general piano program for beginning to intermediate studies provides a great foundation for future music making. We structure child-centered discovery learning around a spiral curriculum that uses the Faber and Faber Method as the core text. In addition to basic theory, ear training, notation reading and technical skills, we help students develop good practicing techniques, interpretive skills and listening skills.
We also strive to incorporate a healthy dose of fun into the lessons. After completing the first Primer level, students are encouraged to chose their own supplementary music. “Piano Parties” are offered several times throughout the year, to help students gain confidence playing in front of others. The June Piano Recital is always an ensemble recital, where students are paired up with others to play duets, trios, or even quartets. In March many students participate in the National Federation of Music Club’s annual Music Festival, a positive event where trophies can be earned after several years of good preparation and playing.
